Kristen McMenamy in Dazed & Confused August 2010

The iconic 90s supermodel returns to front Dazed's August Issue.

Summer Air from the Virgin Suicide

There's something about summer that unleashed a mix of emotions.
Like putting your face in the sun makes you feel like a child.
A way of innocent, wanting to throw yourself in the heat and be lost.
A way of thousand expression, wanting to be free from things that bind you.
A way to fulfill a dream..

I came so close of being a dreamer like Cecelia, in solitude, up
in trees or in the middle of tall grass field writing.
In mind of Lux, wanting to experience love in summer,
moments later had it & lost it, all in one night.
Being like the five of sisters, wanting to breathe the moment of
life at that moment of time as who they was.
Just like who we are.

Every Summer, I thought of the Lisbon sister, I don't know why.
Maybe its the effect of the enigma they left behind,
just like the boys who narrated the story in the film.
Maybe it's not the Lisbon girls but Sofia Coppola's brilliant
direction & story telling.

That's the reason why, the story was never told,
it haunting me wanting to know more.
Sofia lets you decide to solves all uncertainties yourself
by the clues she left behind in the film.

This Summer air seems to reminisces the pan look of the sisters,
the innocent aura that lingers here.
There's so much time cannot erase and the 'Virgin Suicide'
is one that will refuse to heal.
It came strong in fashion, like of MiuMiu.

'Till next Summer, enjoy the liberation & exhilaration.
Feel the passion & write it down like Cecelia's diary.
However do not just dwell in dreams.
Own it. It's yours.
Free yourself.
I just can't wait for Fall.

Robyn, 'Dancing on my Own'

Robyn, 'Dancing on my Own' Official Video.

I must say Robyn is the Queen of electro pop.
When she first came out, she wasn't so accepted.
Now with the lights of LaRoux & Lady Gaga
getting more attention & popularity,
it's time for Robyn to show.
The pioneer of electro pop gave the hits of
'With Every Heartbeat' & 'Who's that Girl'.

Of course, I love this first track!
It's killing me!
If you haven't hear this single which I had blog earlier click here!

This is my next favourite.

Lara Stone, I'm LoveStone!

Now this girl, Lara Stone is growing on me...
I am so over models since all the 90's Supermodels has retired from the limelight.
Occasionally they appeared on seasonal campaign,
like Christy Turlington for Louis Vuitton.
Still waiting for Linda Evangelista to make a comeback, she was my muse for the longest time.
Lara Stone reminds me of the younger Kate Moss mixed with Vanessa Paradis
& a pinched of Madonna vibe.
All of them share the same trademark of having with a gap in between their front teeth.

However Lara Stone caught my attention after she did
Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2010 Ad Campaign.
Stone entered the Elite Model Look contest in 1999,
as a 15-year-old. Although she didn't win, she did impress Elite execs and
was signed to the Elite Modeling Agency nonetheless. After years of working as a struggling model,
her career took a positive turn when she managed to get signed by IMG in 2006.
Soon after, she opened the Givenchy haute couture show in Paris and
she has been a fashion frontrunner ever since.

..and then, she seems to be everywhere just like Kate Moss.
She has walked shows for Louis Vuitton,
Chanel, Lanvin, Miu Miu, Fendi,
MaxMara, Pollini, Prada, Anna Sui, Marc Jacobs,
Michael Kors, Stella McCartney,
Zac Posen, Balmain, Celine, Hermès, Isabel Marant,
Jean Paul Gaultier, Dolce & Gabbana,
D&G, Givenchy, Karl Lagerfeld, Missoni, Emanuel Ungaro,
and many others like Victoria's Secret.
During the runway season of SS-2009 Lara opened the shows of Giles Deacon,

Isabel Marant and Christopher Kane. She also opened
the finale of the coveted Prada show
that very same season in a striking gold dress
and sky high heels that made numerous
models fall flat on the concrete ground. In FW-2008,
Lara opened the Fendi and MaxMara shows,
and closed the Diesel and Stella McCartney shows.
In SS-2008, Lara closed the Prada and Balmain shows,
and opened the Miu Miu show.

That same season she was a semi-exclusive for Prada
which was strange considering Prada normally
only uses new girls as exclusives.
Because she was a Prada semi-exclusive, she could not walk
any shows during New York fashion week,
or any shows in Milan before the Prada show.
After she closed Prada, she was free to walk in
the Milan and Paris fashion weeks.

Now officially, 'Kate Moss Everywhere' will be changed
to 'Lara Stone Everywhere'.
I'm LoveStone!

Stella McCartney F/W Ad Campaign with

Natalia Vodianova, shot Mert & Marcus.

Simplicity at it's best.

Kristen McMenamy Dazed & Confused August

Kristen McMenamy cover for Dazed & Confused August issue.
This iconic edgy Supermodels of the 90's is back to what it seems
to excite the modeling industry.
She paved the way of 'I've weird look' models.
I am embracing the comeback of these great 90's Supermodels,
Christy Turlington, Karen Elson & Kristen McMenamy.
Girls of a true blue model attitude and a muse for many designers.

Is it just me or the models nowadays are just too 'Barbie',
with the exception Lara Stone, which I kinda love.
She reminds me of the younger Kate Moss mixed with Vanessa Paradis
& a pinched of Madonna vibe. Naughty but nice.
Lara is starting to pick up where all these 90's Supermodel had left,
the glamour of modelling.

Watch this video of Kristen McMenamy,
collection of her modelling Campaign & Editorials.
This summarized what I thought modelling
should be like, back in the 90's.

It's pure orgasmic fulfillment watching it.

Fashion History 1920's Party

It's one night only living the fashion history of 1920's.
Allan Wu & Joe Augustine took the stage in hosting the
event of Chic party.
There was feathers in head, pearls in drapes, flowers in blooms
& lots of little black dresses.
Fringes & beading grace the ladies outfits not to out shine,
the gentlemen looks smart in dark suits.
Thumb up to guests who took an effort to dressed
adventurously to the event.

Later Chaplins!
